- Google announces updates to “Gemini in Google Slides.”
- Slides can now be created with a better understanding of context, such as incorporating a more playful tone.
- The update is rolling out in beta, starting with English-language environments, for Google Workspace accounts as well as Google One AI Premium (Google AI Pro/Ultra) members.
On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, Google announced an update to “Gemini in Google Slides,” the integration of its Google AI, Gemini, into the presentation service included in the “Google Workspace” suite.
With this updated “Gemini in Google Slides,” when you provide slide creation instructions via the “Gemini sidebar,” the AI now gathers context from files, emails, and web information to generate slides with a deeper understanding of the subject matter—for instance, by adopting a more playful tone. You can also provide editing instructions for existing slides, such as “match the colors” or “make it more minimalist.”
Additionally, new features are planned for rollout that will allow for the creation of high-quality presentation files from simple prompts, such as “Create a 5-slide deck for my business trip to Tokyo.” By attaching relevant files as needed, the system will be able to generate even more polished and accurate presentations.
The newly announced “Gemini in Google Slides” update is being rolled out in beta, starting in English, for users with Google Workspace accounts and Google One AI Premium (Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra) memberships.
