On Monday, November 10, 2025, Google published a two-week recap and feedback on “Gemini for Home,” the voice assistant for Google Home / Nest devices. This is part of the next-generation smart home service “Google Home (Gemini for Home),” which began its initial rollout in the U.S. about two weeks earlier, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
With the “Gemini for Home” rollout that has started in the U.S., users who have registered for the “Early Access” program through the Google Home app for Android/iOS will have the voice assistant on their linked Google Home / Nest devices upgraded from “Google Assistant” to “Gemini,” allowing them to use the high-performance conversational voice assistant. Additionally, for members of the subscription-based monitoring service formerly known as “Nest Aware,” now “Google Home Premium,” the intuitive conversational service “Gemini Live” is also available on four eligible Nest devices—”Nest Hub (2nd Gen),” “Nest Audio,” “Nest Mini,” and “Nest Hub Max”—by saying, “OK Google, let’s chat.”
“Gemini for Home” for Google Home / Nest devices is currently being rolled out to U.S. users enrolled in the “Early Access” program. However, the recently published two-week recap and feedback has clarified that the rollout is not on a per-account basis, but rather on a per-“Home” basis for “Homes” managed by enrolled accounts. This means that if a user manages multiple “Homes” through the Google Home app, it’s possible for “Gemini for Home” to be rolled out to one “Home” while not yet being available in others.
Incidentally, in a “Home” where “Gemini for Home” has been rolled out, the voice assistant on all Google Home / Nest devices registered to that “Home” will be upgraded from “Google Assistant” to “Gemini.”

“Gemini for Home” is scheduled to expand to regions outside the U.S. starting in early 2026. Registration for the “Early Access” program has also begun in Japan, so by completing the registration, users will be able to use “Gemini for Home” on eligible devices from 2026 onwards.
