On Tuesday, August 18, 2026 local time, Google announced that it is expanding its new AI agent feature “CC” powered by the Google AI “Gemini”—which originally launched on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, as an early-stage experimental project platform on “Google Labs” for the US and Canada—to Australia and New Zealand.
Although the “CC” AI agent feature is not yet live in Australia and New Zealand, a waitlist registration page has been launched. Invitations are expected to roll out sequentially starting today for those who sign up.
While users in Japan can also sign up for the “CC” AI agent waitlist, an expansion to Japan has not yet been announced.
AI Agent Feature “CC”
The “CC” AI agent feature is a productivity tool that integrates with “Gmail,” “Google Calendar,” “Google Drive,” and the broader web to deliver a concise morning briefing email containing your daily schedule, key tasks, and other latest updates.
It also prepares email drafts and calendar links as needed, helping you tackle your tasks efficiently. Furthermore, you can reply directly to “CC” with custom requests, share ideas, or have it add items to “Google Tasks.”
“CC” is currently available in the US and Canada as an early access, initial experimental service.
