- Google is rolling out its new AI model, “Gemini 3 Flash,” as the AI model for the Google AI “Gemini” app.
- This replaces the previous “Gemini 2.5 Flash”-based “Fast Mode.”
- Furthermore, the “Thinking Mode,” which was previously based on “Gemini 3 Pro,” has been updated to be based on “Gemini 3 Flash.”
On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, Google began rolling out “Gemini 3 Flash,” a new AI model in the next-generation Google AI model “Gemini 3” family, which was announced the same day, as the AI model for the Google AI “Gemini” app.
In the “Gemini” app, “Gemini 3 Flash” is being rolled out to replace the previous “Gemini 2.5 Flash”-based “Fast Mode.” In other words, it has been newly launched as the “Gemini 3 Flash”-based “Fast Mode.”
Furthermore, the “Thinking Mode,” which was previously based on “Gemini 3 Pro,” has been updated to a “Gemini 3 Flash”-based model. Additionally, a new “Gemini 3 Pro”-based AI model called “Pro” has been introduced.

With the rollout of “Gemini 3 Flash,” the Gemini app now has three AI models. The previous “Fast Mode” and “Thinking Mode” were simpler and easier to understand.
