On Tuesday, July 21, 2026 (local time), Google announced three new additions to its “Gemini” AI model lineup: “Gemini 3.6 Flash,” “Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite,” and “Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber.”
“Gemini 3.6 Flash” and “Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite” are being made available to developers through platforms such as “Google AI Studio” and “Android Studio,” and to general users via the Gemini app and “AI Mode.” “Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber” is provided exclusively to government agencies and certified partners through the code security tool “CodeMender.”

Additionally, “Gemini 3.5 Pro,” which was originally announced at “Google I/O 2026” for a June 2026 release but has yet to be made available as of late July 2026, is scheduled to be released widely as soon as it is ready.
Gemini 3.6 Flash
“Gemini 3.6 Flash” is the flagship AI model, featuring improved processing efficiency and reduced operational costs compared to its predecessor, “Gemini 3.5 Flash.”
In addition to improved accuracy in programming, document analysis, and data analysis, security has also been prioritized with strengthened resistance against “jailbreaking”—a security attack technique used to extract harmful or confidential information. Furthermore, “Gemini 3.6 Flash” reportedly reduces token usage in complex coding tasks by up to 65%.
“Gemini 3.6 Flash” is available to developers via “Google AI Studio” and “Android Studio,” and has also been rolled out as an AI model within the Gemini app for general users.
Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite
“Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite” is the fastest and most lightweight AI model in the “Gemini 3.5” family.
Compared to the previous model, “Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite,” it offers significantly improved processing speed and performance, making it ideal for large-scale data processing that requires low latency. It is reportedly capable of reaching speeds of up to 350 output tokens per second.
“Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite” is provided to developers through “Google AI Studio” and “Android Studio,” and is now available to general users as an AI model in the Gemini app and via the AI search service, “AI Mode.”
Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber
“Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber” is a cybersecurity-specialized AI model developed based on “Gemini 3.5 Flash.”
It is optimized for detecting and fixing software vulnerabilities. Due to its nature, “Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber” will not be released to the general public to prevent potential misuse and is provided exclusively to government agencies and certified partners through the code security tool “CodeMender.”
Gemini 3.5 Pro
“Gemini 3.5 Pro” was originally announced at the “Google I/O 2026” developer event in May 2026 with a scheduled release for June 2026. However, it had yet to be released as of late July 2026, and no information regarding the delay had been provided until now.
Finally, regarding the delayed “Gemini 3.5 Pro,” Google announced that it is currently in the partner testing phase and is scheduled for a broad release as soon as it is ready.
