On Sunday, March 22, 2026, Samsung announced that its Galaxy S26 series will now support Apple’s short-range file sharing service, “AirDrop.”
Similar to the Pixel 10 and Pixel 9 series, the Galaxy S26 series will integrate AirDrop support through “Quick Share.” This marks the first time that an Android device other than the Pixel 10 and Pixel 9 series will support AirDrop.
The rollout will begin with the Galaxy S26 series in South Korea, followed by a gradual expansion to Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan. Additionally, there are plans to expand compatibility to more devices in the future.
While full technical specifications for AirDrop support on the Galaxy S26 series have not yet been announced, it is expected that this functionality will be enabled via the distribution or update of the “Quick Share Extension” app, which manages AirDrop-related features.
