Currently, products equipped with Google’s cross-reality operating system, “Android XR,” are already being sold internationally in the form of the “Galaxy XR” headset device.
However, it appears that Samsung is preparing a new “Android XR” device with a glasses-like design called “Galaxy Glasses” (codename: Jinju), slated for release in late 2026. The international media outlet Android Headlines has published exclusive images of what is believed to be the actual “Galaxy Glasses” hardware.
The released images show that the “Galaxy Glasses” not only feature a glasses-style design but also appear to have camera-like components on both the left and right sides. According to Android Headlines, these “Galaxy Glasses” will reportedly not be equipped with a micro-LED display.
Furthermore, Android Headlines has revealed that in addition to the “Galaxy Glasses” (codename: Jinju), Samsung is also working on a higher-end model with the codename “Haean,” which is expected to feature a micro-LED display and is scheduled for release in 2027.
It is expected that Google will likely announce new information regarding “Android XR” and “Galaxy Glasses” at its developer event, “Google I/O 2026,” which will be held over two days from Tuesday, May 19, 2026, to Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
