On Thursday, April 9, 2026, Google announced that it is expanding the public preview of its “Personal Health Coach”—powered by the Google AI “Gemini”—beyond the U.S. (English). This feature was originally launched in October 2025 for U.S. users subscribed to the “Fitbit Premium” plan by the company’s subsidiary and fitness tracker manufacturer, Fitbit.

The “Personal Health Coach (Public Preview)” is being rolled out to a wide range of new regions, including Austria, Belgium, Brazil, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Japan. Supported languages have also been expanded to include Brazilian Portuguese, Canadian French, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Korean, Latin American Spanish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese.

The “Personal Health Coach (Public Preview)” serves as an AI-powered personal trainer, sleep coach, and wellness advisor to support user health. Specifically, it uses activity data gathered by Fitbit trackers and the “Google Pixel Watch” series to generate insights tailored to a user’s fitness level, health needs, and goals. It also provides an AI response feature that answers health and activity-related questions based on scientific evidence.

Initially launched for “Fitbit Premium” subscribers on the Android version of the Fitbit app, the “Personal Health Coach (Public Preview)” became available on the iOS version of the Fitbit app in February 2026. Furthermore, at the end of last month, March 2026, it was announced that some features would be made available to free (non-premium) users as well.

With this major expansion, the “Personal Health Coach (Public Preview)” has also added integration for “VO2max,” allowing users to receive support concerning their cardiovascular health.
