Fitbit and Google Pixel Watch 2/3/4 SpO2 and Skin Temperature Bug Report

Key Points of This Article
  • Fitbit has reported an issue primarily affecting the Google Pixel Watch series.
  • Users are experiencing difficulty accessing “Blood Oxygen (SpO2)” and “Skin Temperature” data.
  • Fitbit is currently working on a permanent fix for this issue.

On Monday, March 9, 2026, Fitbit, the fitness device manufacturer owned by Google, reported an issue currently affecting the Google Pixel Watch series via its official service status page, the “Fitbit Status Dashboard.”

The reported issue involves the inability to access “Blood Oxygen (SpO2)” and “Skin Temperature” measurements. It has been noted that this problem began following the March 2026 software update, which started rolling out on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, for the second-generation “Google Pixel Watch 2,” third-generation “Google Pixel Watch 3,” and fourth-generation “Google Pixel Watch 4.”

While Fitbit is currently working on a root cause fix, it appears that as long as both “Oxygen Saturation (Fitbit)” and “Skin Temperature (Fitbit)” are granted permissions under “Fitness and Wellness” within the Fitbit app settings on the Google Pixel Watch’s Wear OS, the issue should generally not occur.

It is worth noting that the March 2026 software update for the Google Pixel Watch series has currently been released first for Bluetooth/Wi-Fi models, and has not yet been pushed to 4G LTE models, which are scheduled for a later release. Consequently, the reported issue is occurring primarily on the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi models.
