  • Nothing has announced the long-awaited cloud backup support for “Essential Space,” an AI feature app that utilizes the physical “Essential Key” found on their Android devices.
  • Users can now sync and share notes, screenshots, voice recordings, images, tasks, and summaries across Nothing devices using the same Nothing account.

On Monday, April 27, 2026, British venture firm Nothing Technologies (Nothing) announced a long-awaited cloud backup update for “Essential Space,” the AI-powered app that utilizes the physical “Essential Key” featured on their Android devices.

Previously, the “Essential Space” app did not support cloud backup, with data stored locally on the device. However, the latest update finally adds cloud backup functionality, allowing users to share and sync notes, screenshots, voice recordings, images, tasks, and summaries across multiple Nothing devices linked to the same account. This means that if you upgrade to a new Nothing device, you can seamlessly carry over your “Essential Space” data without the need for manual migration.

The “Essential Space” cloud backup utilizes Google’s cloud security infrastructure. As it is fully compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), user data remains securely protected.

The “Essential Space” app and its cloud backup feature are available on Nothing devices equipped with the “Essential Key” released from 2025 onwards, such as the “Phone (3a)” and “CMF Phone 2 Pro.”
