On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, Google published the release notes for the latest firmware update, build number UTTC.250917.004, for its streaming devices, Chromecast with Google TV (4K) and Chromecast with Google TV (HD). The update began rolling out on Monday, November 24, 2025.
This is the first firmware update for Chromecast with Google TV (4K) and Chromecast with Google TV (HD) in about four months, following the release of build number UTTC.241218.008.H1 on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
The content of this latest firmware update for Chromecast with Google TV (4K) and Chromecast with Google TV (HD), build number UTTC.250917.004, includes an update to the October 2025 Android security patch, along with other bug fixes and performance improvements. There are no new features.
The UTTC.250917.004 firmware update for Chromecast with Google TV (4K) and Chromecast with Google TV (HD) is rolling out sequentially.

Incidentally, the Chromecast with Google TV (4K) and Chromecast with Google TV (HD) streaming devices were discontinued on the official Google Store in February 2025. Google has also already ended production of the “Chromecast” series of streaming devices.
