On Monday, January 5, 2026, Google revealed an “Android XR” cross-reality (XR) operating system animation for the iconic “Sphere” entertainment venue in Las Vegas. The announcement coincides with “CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2026,” the world’s largest consumer technology trade show, taking place from Tuesday, January 6, to Friday, January 9, 2026.
The “Android XR” animation featured on the “Sphere” is a roughly one-minute video showing the Android mascot “Bugdroid” playing with “Gemini” and the “Galaxy XR” headset device equipped with “Android XR.” The animation is designed to be displayed on the Sphere’s massive external LED screen.
It would be truly spectacular to witness the “Android XR” animation unfolding on such a grand scale at the Sphere in person.
