On Monday, December 8, 2025, Google announced new information about “Android XR” during “The Android Show | XR Edition,” the version of its developer-focused YouTube Live program “The Android Show (#TheAndroidShow)” dedicated to Google’s cross-reality XR operating system, “Android XR.”
The announcement was a release teaser for new “AI Glass” powered by “Android XR,” developed by Google’s partner companies, South Korean eyewear brand “Gentle Monster” and American eyewear brand “Warby Parker.” These were previously mentioned at the developer event “Google I/O 2025” in May 2025. The two “AI Glass” models, equipped with speakers, a microphone, a camera, and an in-lens display, will support features like conversations with Google AI “Gemini,” taking photos, turn-by-turn navigation via “Google Maps,” and displaying translated subtitles with “Google Translate.” They are set to be released sometime in 2026.
Incidentally, at “Google I/O 2025,” partnerships with other brands, such as the Kering Group’s luxury eyewear brand “Kering Eyewear,” were also announced, but no “AI Glass” from those brands were revealed this time.
