The new feature “PC Connect,” which will be rolled out in an update for the “Android XR”-powered Samsung headset “Galaxy XR,” was announced.

“PC Connect” is a feature that allows you to connect your “Galaxy XR” to a Windows PC, enabling you to display your Windows desktop and native Google apps on the “Galaxy XR” side-by-side. You can work on your Windows desktop while playing a game from “Google Play Games.”

The new “Galaxy XR” feature “PC Connect” will be rolled out as a beta version along with an update to the “Galaxy XR.” Furthermore, “Likeness,” a real-time digital facial recognition feature that reflects the user’s facial expressions and hand gestures onto their avatar during video calls on the “Galaxy XR,” will also become available.

The upcoming release of the new “AI Glass” powered by “Android XR” was announced. These glasses are being developed by Google’s partners, South Korean eyewear brand “Gentle Monster” and American eyewear brand “Warby Parker,” and were previously revealed at the developer event “Google I/O 2025” in May 2025.

The new “AI Glass” powered by “Android XR” will feature speakers, a microphone, a camera, and an in-lens display. They will support conversations with Google AI “Gemini,” photo capture, turn-by-turn navigation with “Google Maps,” and translated subtitles via “Google Translate.” Two models of the “AI Glass” will be released in 2026.

“Project Aura” – Wired Glasses Powered by “Android XR”

The upcoming release of “Project Aura,” AR glasses maker XREAL’s wired glasses powered by “Android XR,” was also announced. This project was previously revealed at the developer event “Google I/O 2025” in May 2025.

“Project Aura” features a 70-degree field of view and optical see-through technology, allowing digital content to be directly overlaid onto the real world. It also supports multiple virtual windows, which can be used as a giant canvas. For example, you can float a recipe video while cooking or display repair instructions while fixing an appliance.

While it was already announced that “Project Aura” would use a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR chip and feature optical see-through technology, it was revealed for the first time that these will be wired XR glasses.
