That long-rumored feature for Android devices, which has been whispered about for about a year, has finally started rolling out from mid to late August 2026.
That feature is the motion sickness reduction feature “Motion Cues“, now renamed “Motion Assist”. So far, we have confirmed its rollout on the next-generation Google Pixel devices, the “Pixel 11” series, as well as the “Pixel 10 Pro XL” and “Pixel 10”.
On the other hand, rollout on the “Pixel 10 Pro Fold” has not been confirmed. However, it is available on the “Pixel 11 Pro Fold”. The rollout scope remains a mystery.
“Motion Assist” is a feature that displays animated shapes on the edges of the screen that move in sync with the device’s movement, helping to reduce motion sickness when you look at them. Initially rumored since the fall of 2025 as the feature transitioned from mere rumors to actual in-app code implementation, and after reports of its potential release continued, it has finally begun rolling out starting in mid-August 2026.
“Motion Assist” is located within “Google Services” in the Android settings, but a “Quick Settings tile” is also provided. Turning it ON and OFF via the “Quick Settings tile” is recommended.

Additionally, the moving shapes displayed on the edges of the screen allow you to customize their color, shape, and opacity, and you can also select a random option.

While the exact rollout scope of “Motion Assist” is unclear, it is expected that having the next-generation Android OS “Android 17” is likely a minimum requirement. Furthermore, since the “Google Play services” app powers this feature, having the Android version of the “Google Play services” app updated to the latest version is also a requirement.
