The Android and iOS versions of “Google NotebookLM,” a research and writing assistant tool powered by Google’s “Gemini” AI, finally started supporting the customization of “Video Overviews” around Friday, February 20, 2026.
Until now, “Video Overviews” in the mobile versions of the “Google NotebookLM” app only supported basic video generation. However, the customization of “Video Overviews” was previously announced in the v1.25.8.869540019 (Android) / v1.25.8 (iOS) update released on Friday, February 13, 2026.
And now, customization for “Video Overviews” has finally been unlocked in the Android and iOS apps. With this update, all menus within the “Studio” content generation feature of the mobile apps now support customization, providing users with the same level of functionality as the desktop version of “NotebookLM.”

Additionally, other new features such as direct source addition for “Google Drive” files and suggested chat questions have been teased for the mobile “Google NotebookLM” apps. While the suggested chat questions have already been rolled out, direct source addition for “Google Drive” files is still pending release.
