The system app “Health Connect,” which shares health, fitness, and well-being data between apps on Android devices, began receiving the v2025.11.13.00.release update on Monday, December 1, 2025.

While Google has not officially announced any new features for this v2025.11.13.00.release update for the Health Connect app on Android, an analysis of the app’s code has confirmed the addition of “Skin temperature” as a new data type under “Data and access.” This newly supported “Skin temperature” also appears in the “Data and access” settings.

Skin temperature is health data that is useful for accurate menstrual cycle/ovulation prediction, identifying causes of light sleep, and the early detection of other health issues.

For context, a “skin temperature sensor” has been included in Google Pixel smartwatches since the “Google Pixel Watch 2,” and the new generation “Google Pixel Watch 4” features an enhanced “skin temperature sensor.” Additionally, the Android version of the “Fitbit” app, provided by the Google-owned Fitbit, also supports “Skin temperature” data.

This means that by enabling Health Connect integration, “Skin temperature” data collected by devices like the “Google Pixel Watch 4” and sent to the Android “Fitbit” app can be shared with other health-related apps via “Health Connect.” This data can then be utilized for accurate menstrual cycle/ovulation prediction, identifying causes of light sleep, and early detection of other health issues.

Of course, other health apps that support Health Connect and can read/manage “Skin temperature” data, not just the “Fitbit” app, can also make use of this data in the same way.
