- The bottom menu in the Android version of the “Google Photos” app has finally been updated to a floating menu design.
- The change has been confirmed in app version v7.82 and later.
- On large-screen devices such as the “Pixel 10 Pro Fold” and “Pixel Tablet,” the display remains unchanged, continuing to use the left-side menu bar.
About five months ago, in mid-February 2026, the UI of the iOS version of the Google online photo library service “Google Photos” was suddenly updated. The bottom menu, which displays “Photos,” “Collections,” “Sharing,” and “Search,” shifted from a standard bar design to a floating menu design that appears to hover at the bottom of the screen.
Several months later, the bottom menu of the Android version of the “Google Photos” app has finally been updated to this same floating menu design. This has been confirmed in app version v7.82 and later.
It is worth noting that this is purely a visual update from a standard bar to a floating design, and there are no specific changes to the app’s functionality.

While this floating menu rollout has begun for the Android version of the “Google Photos” app, the display on large-screen devices like the “Pixel 10 Pro Fold” and “Pixel Tablet” remains unchanged, continuing to utilize the left-side menu bar.
