This feature was actually observed in some overseas regions around the end of June 2025, and this site confirmed its rollout in mid-August 2025. However, Google’s official announcement for the full rollout was made in late September 2025.

Coinciding with the rollout of the “Mark as Read” button, a new setting called “Default behavior for email notifications” has also been added, which allows users to change the “Archive” button in the notification center to a “Delete” button.
