Starting around mid-May 2026, a new feature called “Contextual Suggestions” has begun rolling out, allowing AI to provide helpful, situation-specific recommendations to Android users.
The “Contextual Suggestions” AI setting has been newly established under the “Other” section at the very bottom of the “Google Services” list in Android settings. Please note that this setting is enabled by default.
However, it appears that the rollout is currently limited to select Android devices.

The “Contextual Suggestions” AI feature for Android provides notifications with helpful recommendations from apps and services based on your daily activities and location. For example, the AI can offer useful suggestions in various situations, such as recommending a workout playlist from your music app when you are at the gym, or suggesting that you cast a live sports broadcast to your living room TV at the optimal time if that is a routine you frequently enjoy.
Additionally, “Contextual Suggestions” is designed so that the AI learns and predicts user behavior within an encrypted area on the device; it appears that the data used is not shared with other apps or Google. Furthermore, the data learned by the AI can be deleted at any time, and it is automatically erased after 60 days.
In other words, the feature is designed with a strong emphasis on user privacy.
