On Friday, November 6, 2026, Google released app version v1.4.2 for “Google AI Edge Eloquent,” an AI voice transcription app for iOS devices powered by the small language model “Gemma,” which was originally released on Friday, April 10, 2026.

This v1.4.2 update for the “Google AI Edge Eloquent” app is a minor update following app version v1.4.1 released on Friday, August 21, 2026. Although it is the first update in three months, it only includes minor bug fixes.

With the v1.4.0 update, the “Google AI Edge Eloquent” app newly added support for Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Indonesian, Russian, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese. While the app was previously only available in English, it can now be used in Japanese as well.

However, the in-app text has not been localized and remains in English.

Unlike standard voice input software that transcribes slips of the tongue and filler words like “um,” “ah,” and “er” exactly as spoken, the “Google AI Edge Eloquent” app uses AI to automatically edit out these mistakes and fillers, transcribing only accurate sentences. Furthermore, instead of simply editing out slips of the tongue and fillers, it understands the context of disjointed spoken language and polishes it into perfect sentences.

Another key feature of the “Google AI Edge Eloquent” app is that it does not require a server connection, operating efficiently right on the device. This means it works offline, and private user data is never sent to Google servers or elsewhere.

In addition, starting with app version v1.3.0, the app also supports uploading audio and video files, allowing users to transcribe uploaded audio and video recordings. The “Google AI Edge Eloquent” app also features a function to learn the user’s vocabulary and create an editable dictionary saved to their Google Account.

Despite being packed with so many features, the “Google AI Edge Eloquent” app is completely free.
