On Wednesday, October 28, 2026 local time, Google officially announced that the “XREAL AURA,” a wired intelligent eyewear developed by XREAL powered by the “Android XR” wearable platform, will be released in November 2026 in the US, Canada, South Korea, and Japan.

Pre-orders for the “XREAL AURA” began the same day in the US, Canada, and South Korea. The official price of the “XREAL AURA” starts at $1,099 in the US and is 229,800 JPY (including tax) in Japan, with shipping to begin sequentially from mid-November 2026.

In Japan, an early reservation program called the “XREAL AURA” Benefit Program has already been underway since June 2026 on the official XREAL website. It is scheduled for release in Japan on Monday, November 2, 2026.

The “XREAL AURA” is smart glasses powered by Google’s “Android XR” wearable platform. It is used by connecting the lightweight glasses body—weighing under 95g—via a cable to a dedicated portable computing pack that houses Qualcomm’s latest “Snapdragon Reality Elite” platform and a battery.

The lenses of the glasses are see-through (transparent), allowing users to view the real world while projecting virtual screens and apps across a wide 70-degree field of view (FOV). Thanks to “Android XR” capabilities, users can access not only apps from the “Google Play Store” but also over 150 apps developed exclusively for “Android XR.”

Furthermore, the “Gemini” AI assistant is integrated, allowing users to ask “Gemini” questions directly about what they are seeing in the real world or on-screen, and receive assistance with operations. It also features a “Wired Mirroring” function, which lets users mirror their laptop screen into virtual space by connecting to a PC via a USB Type-C cable.

The “XREAL AURA” is poised to be a next-generation spatial computing device applicable for a wide range of uses, from entertainment to building multi-monitor work environments.
