  • Detailed key specifications, which had previously been unknown, have been revealed.
  • The 2.8-inch IPS color display and “AI Voice Interaction (Hello Kata)” are the standout features of the “SwitchBot Hub 4.”

Although its existence has already been confirmed, the fourth-generation hub product “SwitchBot Hub 4” from IoT device top brand SwitchBot has not yet been officially announced.

Recently, a product page appeared on domestic Amazon.co.jp, and now a product page has also appeared on Germany’s Amazon.de, revealing detailed key specifications that were previously unknown. It has also been revealed that it will feature almost the same design as the previous-generation “SwitchBot Hub 3.”

Please note that the “SwitchBot Hub 4” is not yet available for purchase or pre-order on Germany’s Amazon.de either. The price is also currently unknown.

Like the previous-generation “SwitchBot Hub 3,” the “SwitchBot Hub 4” is equipped with physical buttons and a dial (rotary encoder). It features a 2.8-inch touch-enabled IPS color display, and as confirmed on the Amazon.co.jp product page, it comes with the “AI Voice Dialogue (Hello Kata)” function.

For “Hello Kata,” it adopts dual omnidirectional microphones that enable voice activation from up to approximately 3 meters away. In addition, it supports integration with third-party smart assistants such as “Google Home,” “Amazon Alexa,” and “Siri.”

As for connectivity, it supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 or later, and is also compatible with “Matter Bridge 1.3.” Remarkably, it can manage up to 30 Matter-compatible devices and up to 120 Bluetooth sub-devices.

Naturally, it includes infrared (IR) remote control functionality supporting over 100,000 models, as well as built-in temperature, humidity, ambient light, and motion sensors. The temperature and humidity sensor operates via a temperature/humidity sensor-equipped USB Type-C cable, just like previous “SwitchBot Hub” series models.

In short, the 2.8-inch IPS color display and “AI Voice Dialogue (Hello Kata)” are the standout features of the “SwitchBot Hub 4.” As soon as information regarding the currently unknown price and release date becomes available, we will report on it again.
