On Friday, October 2, 2026 local time, Google released the beta OS update “Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1” for Google Pixel devices enrolled in the pre-release Android OS trial program, the “Android Beta Program.”

“Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1” is based on “Android 17 QPR3,” which follows the first update group “Android 17 QPR1” and the second update group “Android 17 QPR2” as part of the quarterly platform releases (QPR) rolled out after the official release of “Android 17.” Meanwhile, “Android 17 QPR3 Beta x” serves as the beta OS leading up to the official release.

“Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1” is being delivered via Over the Air (OTA) software updates to a total of 23 Google Pixel models enrolled in the “Android Beta Program”: the “Pixel 6a,” “Pixel 7,” “Pixel 7 Pro,” “Pixel 7a,” “Pixel 6 Fold,” “Pixel Tablet,” “Pixel 8,” “Pixel 8 Pro,” “Pixel 8a,” “Pixel 9,” “Pixel 9 Pro,” “Pixel 9 Pro XL,” “Pixel 9 Pro Fold,” “Pixel 9a,” “Pixel 10,” “Pixel 10 Pro,” “Pixel 10 Pro XL,” “Pixel 10 Pro Fold,” “Pixel 10a,” “Pixel 11,” “Pixel 11 Pro,” “Pixel 11 Pro XL,” and “Pixel 11 Pro Fold.” The new-generation Google Pixel device series, the “Pixel 11,” finally became eligible for “Android 17 QPRx Beta” updates starting with the previous “Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6.1” release.

Note that starting with “Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1,” the “Pixel 6” and “Pixel 6 Pro” have been excluded from the eligible devices list.

The newly released “Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1” focuses primarily on bug fixes, resolving a total of 20 issues. Notably, it resolves many problems directly affecting daily use, such as a bug where the device freezes when unlocking via the fingerprint sensor, an issue where mobile connectivity is completely lost when the modem returns unexpected SIM slot information, and a problem preventing eSIM profiles from being enabled.
