Postscript
“Sky Map” was originally developed by Google as “Google Sky Map,” but it has since become an open-source project and is currently managed and developed under Penterakt LLC in the United States.
In fact, it appears to be currently operated by former Google software engineer John Taylor (@jaydeetay) as the final remaining developer. We were able to learn about this directly after being contacted by John Taylor himself.
