  • The “Google Store” has quietly adjusted the price of the new-generation budget Google Pixel device, the “Pixel 10a,” resulting in a price increase.
  • Starting Thursday, October 1, 2026, the model with 128GB of internal storage will cost 92,800 yen (including tax)—a 12,820 yen (approximately 14%) increase from the original price—while and the model with 256GB of internal storage will cost 107,800 yen (tax included), a 15,000 yen (approx. 12%) increase from the original price.
  • The Japan-exclusive “Isai Blue” color remains unchanged at 107,800 yen (tax included).

On Thursday, October 1, 2026, the official Google e-commerce site, the “Google Store,” quietly revised and raised the prices for the “Pixel 10a,” the new generation of affordable Google Pixel devices that launched in Japan on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

At launch, the Japanese version of the “Pixel 10a” was priced at 79,980 yen including tax for the 128GB internal storage model, and 94,900 yen including tax for the 256GB internal storage model. However, starting Thursday, October 1, 2026, the 128GB model has increased by 12,820 yen (approx. 14%) to 92,800 yen including tax, while the 256GB model has increased by 15,000 yen (approx. 12%) to 107,800 yen including tax.

While the “Google Store” has previously raised prices for products like the “Pixel Buds” series, this marks the first time a Google Pixel device has undergone a price increase. Furthermore, this substantial price hike was implemented without any prior notice.

Meanwhile, the Japan-exclusive blue color, “Isai Blue,” remains unchanged at its original price of 107,800 yen including tax with no adjustments made. However, it has been out of stock since Wednesday, July 15, 2026, two and a half months ago.

In other words, there is a strong possibility that the Japan-exclusive “Isai Blue” color of the “Pixel 10a” on the “Google Store” has reached the end of its sales lifecycle.

“Pixel 10a”

The “Pixel 10a” is the new-generation model of affordable Google Pixel devices, equipped with the same “Tensor G4” processor found in the “Pixel 9” series.

Historically, the “Pixel a” series has always been positioned as a budget-friendly model featuring the processor adopted by the flagship series of that generation. However, the “Pixel 10a” marks the first time an “a” series model has been equipped with a previous-generation processor. In terms of core specifications, it resembles a minor update to the “Pixel 9a,” and unfortunately, it does not support “Pixelsnap”—the Qi2-based magnetic unit newly introduced in the “Pixel 10” series.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the “Pixel 10a” features a satin-finish 100% recycled aluminum frame and an 81% recycled plastic back cover. Furthermore, recycled materials including cobalt, copper, gold, and tungsten are utilized throughout its components.

While the dust and water resistance of the “Pixel 10a” remains rated at IP68 (the same as the “Pixel 9a”), its durability has been significantly enhanced thanks to the adoption of Corning Gorilla Glass 7i cover glass. The display is a 6.3-inch Actua display identical to the “Pixel 9a,” but its brightness has been boosted by 11%.

The “Pixel 10a” retains the same 5,100mAh battery capacity as the “Pixel 9a,” delivering over 30 hours of continuous battery life, but its charging specifications have been upgraded to support up to 45W fast wired charging and up to 10W fast wireless charging. It is guaranteed to receive OS major updates and security updates for 7 years from its release.

Additionally, the “Pixel 10a” features “Pixel Satellite SOS” support for the first time in the “Pixel a” series. It also supports “Quick Share,” a short-range file transfer feature that includes interoperability with Apple’s “AirDrop.”

Key specifications of the “Pixel 10a” include a 6.3-inch (2,424 × 1,080) Actua display with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i cover glass and a 60–120Hz refresh rate, a “Tensor G4” processor / “Titan M2” security coprocessor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB / 256GB of internal storage, and a 5,100mAh battery supporting up to 45W fast charging and up to 10W fast wireless charging. It ships out-of-the-box with Android 16.

The rear camera setup consists of a dual-camera system featuring a 48-megapixel wide camera and a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera. It supports up to 8x Super Res Zoom and “Macro Focus” for close-up photography. The front-facing camera features a punch-hole 13-megapixel single camera.

Other functional features include USB Type-C 3.2, an in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock, next-generation 5G (Sub6) connectivity, Wi-Fi 6E (extended 6GHz Wi-Fi), Bluetooth v6.0, and dual SIM support via a nanoSIM slot and eSIM. The Japanese version of the “Pixel 10a” also includes FeliCa support for “Osaifu-Keitai” mobile payment services.

The “Pixel 10a” is available in four standard color variations: “Lavender” (purple), “Berry” (red), “Fog” (white), and “Obsidian” (black). However, the Japanese version is offered in five colors, including the exclusive “Isai Blue.” It is available in two storage configurations: 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage.

Update

The “Pixel 10a” has also seen a $100 price increase on the US “Google Store.”

The pricing has risen from the original $499 to $599 for the 128GB internal storage model, and from the original $599 to $699 for the 256GB internal storage model. This suggests that the price hike is likely part of a global adjustment.
