- Google has launched a family edition of “CC,” the AI agent feature powered by Google’s “Gemini” AI.
- The family edition of “CC” is designed with a dedicated Google account featuring a unique ID and permission management, allowing the primary user to invite up to 5 additional members, for a total of up to 6 family members.
- Every morning, all family members receive a shared “Your Day Ahead” briefing email summarizing the day’s schedules and tasks, as well as tasks completed by “CC” the previous day.
On Thursday, September 17, 2026 local time, Google launched the family edition of “CC“—an expanded version of the AI agent feature powered by Google AI “Gemini,” which began rolling out in the US and Canada on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, and later expanded to Australia and New Zealand.
The family edition of “CC” is designed to use a dedicated Google account equipped with a unique ID and permission management. This dedicated account allows the primary user to invite up to 5 additional members (for a total of up to 6 family members), and invited members can individually select which services—such as Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Tasks—to share with “CC.”
With the family edition of “CC,” a shared “Your Day Ahead” briefing email is sent to all family members every morning, summarizing not only the day’s schedules and tasks, but also the tasks “CC” completed the day before. Shared schedules and tasks are automatically reflected in Google Calendar and Google Tasks, and any schedule changes are dynamically tracked and updated.
By talking to “CC” on Google Chat, users can have it handle practical tasks based on their instructions, such as creating weekly meal plans, generating shopping lists for school supplies, and filling out documents like permission slips. Furthermore, “CC” is equipped to distinguish and remember both shared family information (such as shopping lists and favorite restaurants) and information that applies only to individuals (such as dietary restrictions and time zones).
Additionally, the family edition of “CC” runs in a cloud environment isolated for each member, powered by Google’s new agent execution infrastructure “Google Antigravity” and the latest “Gemini” models. It also supports real-time travel time checks integrated with the Google Maps API, and the creation of shared documents in Google Docs and Google Sheets.
Please note that the family edition of “CC” is currently exclusive to the United States. No announcements have been made yet regarding expansion to Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, where “CC” is already available.
