- The price of the “Titan Security Key”—a USB key compatible with “Passkey,” a new password-free standard released three years ago in November 2023—has been adjusted on the “Google Store.”
- Both the “USB-C / NFC” and “USB-A / NFC” models have seen a price increase to a uniform 5,625 yen (tax included).
- I wish they’d at least given some advance notice.

Following a massive price hike of 8,500 yen from the original price of 16,000 yen (tax included) to 24,500 yen (tax included) for the Google streaming device “Google TV Streamer (4K).”
However, the “Google TV Streamer (4K)” wasn’t the only product to get a price increase. On Google’s official e-commerce site, the “Google Store,” the price of the “Titan Security Key“—a USB key compatible with the passwordless “Passkey” standard, which was released three years ago in November 2023—has also been revised and increased.
The “Titan Security Key” lineup features two models: “USB-C / NFC” and “USB-A / NFC.” Originally, the “USB-C / NFC” model was priced at 4,500 yen and the “USB-A / NFC” model at 4,000 yen (both including tax), but both have now been uniformly raised to 5,625 yen (tax included). It’s a silent price increase.

It would be nice if they at least gave us some advance notice.
