- Along with the September 2026 software update for the “Google Pixel Watch 5,” ON/OFF settings for the new “Proactive Assist” feature based on the next-generation intelligent system “Gemini Intelligence” have been rolled out.
- The feature is rolled out as “Proactive Assist” on Android devices, and also as “Proactive Assist” on the “Google Pixel Watch 5” side (Note: in Japanese it differs as 先回りアシスト and プロアクティブ アシスト, but both map to Proactive Assist).
- It is simply a basic ON/OFF toggle setting.
On Tuesday, September 1, 2026 local time, Google began rolling out the September 2026 software update based on the new-generation wearable OS “Wear OS 7” for the new-generation Google Pixel smartwatch, the “Google Pixel Watch 5.”
Along with this September 2026 software update for the “Google Pixel Watch 5,” ON/OFF settings for the new “Proactive Assist” feature—powered by the next-generation intelligent system “Gemini Intelligence”—have also started rolling out. The ON/OFF setting for “Proactive Assist” is available as “Proactive Assist” on Android devices and as “Proactive Assist” on the “Google Pixel Watch 5” itself.

The “Proactive Assist” setting is simply a basic ON/OFF toggle. No granular configuration options are provided.
Seriously, why didn’t they unify the setting name across devices?
