This is the first new shortcut added to the “Google Search bar” widget in the Android “Google” app in about a year, following the “AI Mode” shortcut added in September of last year (2025). By setting “Search Live” as a shortcut, you can now launch “Search Live” directly from the “Google Search bar.”
Previously, there was no way to launch “Search Live” directly, so setting it as a shortcut will make it much easier to use frequently. Naturally, the “Search Live” shortcut for the “Google Search bar” widget in the Android “Google” app is being rolled out in the latest app version.
