Additionally, as a new operational feature, “undo” and “redo” are now available while editing.
The RAW editing engine upgrade for the Android version of the “Snapseed” app was previously revealed through the internal files of app version v4.0.2 (4.0.2.917881365) released on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Initially, it was discovered that resource code related to an independent RAW development processing service (“LibRawService”) based on the “LibRaw” backend service—operating as a separate, specialized process (android:isolatedProcess=”true”)—had been added. This pointed to an architectural revamp designed to execute RAW development safely and stably within an isolated security space, along with support for a wider variety of RAW formats.
In other words, true to those findings, the v4.1 update for the Android and iOS versions of the “Snapseed” app delivers enhanced RAW development processing.
