On Tuesday, August 9, 2026, Google began rolling out the app version v1.0.17.0 update for the “Google” app for Windows.

Although it is a minor update, the version v1.0.17.0 update for the Windows “Google” app drastically expands its language support, moving beyond the previous English-only limitation. While 77 new languages—including German, French, and Spanish—are now supported, Japanese is still not included. You cannot yet use the Windows “Google” app in Japanese.

Additionally, the v1.0.17.0 update for the Windows “Google” app introduces the ability to delete search threads, along with general bug fixes and performance improvements.
