On Tuesday, July 21, 2026 (local time), Google announced three new AI models for its “Gemini” platform—”Gemini 3.6 Flash,” “Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite,” and “Gemini 3.5 Flash Cyber”—while also making its first official mention of the unreleased “Gemini 3.5 Pro.”
“Gemini 3.5 Pro” was originally announced at the “Google I/O 2026” developer event held in May 2026 with a scheduled release for June 2026. However, even as we approach the end of July 2026, the model has yet to be released, and until now, there had been no official explanation regarding the delay.
Finally, however, Google has provided an update on the release status of “Gemini 3.5 Pro.” According to the announcement, the model has entered the partner testing phase and will be made widely available as soon as it is ready. In other words, the official launch of “Gemini 3.5 Pro” will follow the completion of these partner tests.
