  • Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have been excluded as supported devices for the “Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1” OS update.
  • Effectively, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are no longer part of the “Android Beta Program.”
  • For Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices currently enrolled in the “Android Beta Program,” the final beta OS version is “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 7,” which was released on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, launched in October 2021, were initially expected to reach their guaranteed major OS update deadline in October 2024.

However, in December 2024, the guaranteed support period for OS and security updates was extended to five years across the board. This meant that for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, not only security updates but also major OS updates would be provided through October 2026.

While the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are scheduled to receive major OS and security updates until October 2026, that deadline is now only a few months away. As a result, the “Pixel 6” and “Pixel 6 Pro” have been excluded as supported devices for the “Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1” update, which was released on Monday, July 20, 2026, for Google Pixel devices enrolled in the Android Beta Program.

In short, Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1 and subsequent releases will not be delivered to the Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro. Effectively, these devices are no longer eligible for the Android Beta Program.

For users with a Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro currently enrolled in the Android Beta Program, the “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 7” released on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, marks the final beta OS version.
