“Android 17 QPR2,” which serves as the foundation for “Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1,” is the second update group in the Quarterly Platform Releases (QPR) that follow the official “Android 17” release, succeeding the first update group, “Android 17 QPR1.” Consequently, “Android 17 QPR2 Beta x” represents the beta OS phase leading up to the official release.

The first beta update for the initial “Android 17 QPR1” update group was released on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, as “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 1,” followed by the staged releases of “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 2” through “Beta 7.” Today marks the release of the first beta update for the second update group: “Android 17 QPR 2 Beta 1.”

“Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1” is being distributed via “Over the Air (OTA)” update to a total of 19 models registered in the Android Beta Program: Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and Pixel 10a. Starting with “Android 17 QPR2 Beta 1,” the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro have been officially removed from the list of supported devices.

Effectively, the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are no longer eligible for the “Android Beta Program.”
