The Android version of the “Google Health” app, which was revamped from the former “Fitbit” app, began rolling out its v5.0.2 update on Monday, June 22, 2026.
As officially announced, the “Google Health” app v5.0.2 update includes a total of 14 new features and bug fixes across six categories: the “Today” and “Health” tabs, as well as sleep, fitness, nutrition, and others. Notably, the Android version of “Google Health” v5.0.2 adds several new features, including a drag-and-drop chart reordering function for the “Main Metrics” section.
Please note that the iOS version of the “Google Health” app v5.0.2 update was released in mid-June 2026.
The “Today” tab’s focus metrics dashboard has been expanded, allowing you to view more metrics without swiping right or switching tabs (configurable by tapping the pencil icon and selecting “Expanded View”).
Simplified metrics reordering
Reordering metrics on the “Today” tab is now easier. Simply enter edit mode (tap the pencil icon), tap a metric, and select another metric to swap their positions.
■ “Health” Tab Updates
Easier reordering of “Main Metrics”
You can now reorder charts in the “Main Metrics” section of the “Health” tab via drag-and-drop (tap “Customize,” then long-press the chart you want to move and drag it to your desired location). *Available in Android v5.0.2; expected for iOS in the upcoming v5.0.3 update.
■ Sleep Feature Updates
Improved display of “Restlessness”
A “Restlessness” bar has been placed near the sleep stage graph to improve data correlation (detection accuracy for minor awakenings has also been improved). *Further improvements planned.
Easier access to nap data
Recorded nap data is now easier to find and track over time (accessible via an individual tab on the daily sleep score screen). *Available in Android v5.0.2; expected for iOS in the upcoming v5.0.3 update.
Full support for deleting sleep sessions
You can now permanently delete sleep sessions from within the app.
Fixed sleep session editing errors
Resolved an issue where some users were unable to edit sleep sessions.
■ Fitness and Activity Updates
Return of the “Hourly Activity” feature
The “Hourly Activity” (hourly step goal) chart has returned to the “Today” and “Health” tabs (can be added to the dashboard via the pencil icon on the “Today” tab or “Customize” on the “Health” tab).
Bug fixes and stability improvements (Workout Overview)
Fixed an issue where steps or distance were incorrectly displayed as “0” for some manually recorded activities.
Fixed an issue where automatically detected cycling routes showed extremely short distances. *Note: Distance display for automatically detected cycling routes is currently unsupported.
■ Nutrition Management Updates
Faster food search
Improved search result display speed on both Android and iOS (Android version now displays serving units and calories in search results). *iOS support coming soon.
Estimated macronutrient display during logging
Estimated macros are now displayed on the main food logging page, allowing for a preview before finalizing the log.
Updated “Today” tab nutrition tile
The nutrition tile on the “Today” tab has been updated from a “Net Calories” focus to displaying “Calories Consumed” (top number) and “Calories Remaining” (bottom number).
■ Log Management from Third-Party Apps (Partner Apps)
Support for direct deletion within the app
Individual workouts, meal logs, and weight logs synced from other apps can now be deleted directly within the “Google Health” app, without needing to go through the “Privacy Center” (tap the session or log and use the three-dot menu or trash icon).
For data imported from “Health Connect” or “Apple Health”
Deleting the data will direct you to the platform’s management screen so the data can be removed there as well. *Future plans include enabling deletion of synced data solely within the “Google Health” app without needing to remove it from the platform side.
For data imported from direct integration apps
Deletion is completed smoothly within the “Google Health” app alone.
