On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, the official Google e-commerce site, “Google Store,” published an article introducing the “Google Home Speaker,” a new “Gemini for Home”-compatible smart speaker that has opened for pre-orders with a scheduled release date of Thursday, June 25, 2026.
The “Google Home Speaker” marks a significant new release, arriving five and a half years after the previous model, “Nest Audio,” announced in October 2020. Looking at the broader lineup of Google smart speakers and smart displays, this is the first new product in approximately four years, since the “Nest Hub (2nd Gen)” announced in March 2021.
As the first new product in several years, the “Google Home Speaker” features significant advancements in both hardware and software. On the hardware side, it is equipped with three speaker units designed to produce rich sound from highs to lows, delivering an authentic acoustic experience based on the latest sound engineering. The perceived bass impact is reportedly 2.5 times greater than that of the “Nest Mini.”
The “Google Home Speaker” includes “Adaptive Sound,” which automatically adjusts sound quality based on the room’s environment. Thanks to its distinctive 360-degree speaker structure, it transcends the typical role of a “voice assistant speaker,” acting instead as a professional audio device that fills the room with comfortable, expansive, and uniform sound.

The “Google Home Speaker” has been meticulously designed for peace of mind, as it is frequently used in living rooms and bedrooms. The light ring located at the base of the unit provides visual feedback not only when it is “listening” to audio but also indicating, through light patterns, more detailed states such as “thinking” or “responding.” Users can confirm at a glance whether their voice commands have been correctly received.
Naturally, it also features a toggle-style mute switch to physically disconnect the microphone. Additionally, more than 37% of the “Google Home Speaker” is made from recycled materials.
Furthermore, by pairing two “Google Home Speakers” with a “Google TV Streamer,” users can build a spatial surround sound system. The “Google Home Speaker” is priced at 16,800 yen (tax included) and is available in two colors: “Porcelain” and “Hazel.”
