Back in April 2026, two months ago, Google’s video service “YouTube” quietly increased the prices for its paid “YouTube Premium” membership in the United States without any prior announcement.

While the price hike took effect immediately for new members starting in April 2026, the change for existing memberships was scheduled to begin on Monday, June 8, 2026. That day has finally arrived. However, it is important to note that this “YouTube Premium” price increase still applies only to the U.S. market.

The Individual plan has seen a $2 increase, moving from $13.99 to $15.99. The Family plan, Student plan, and “YouTube Premium Lite” have also been subject to price adjustments.

  • Annual: $139.99 → $159.99

  • Monthly: $22.99 → $26.99

U.S. “YouTube Premium” Price List

As of Monday, June 8, 2026, there has been no price increase for “YouTube Premium” in Japan. That said, we cannot rule out the possibility that prices in Japan may also be raised in the coming weeks.
