The Google Health app v5.0.1 update introduces numerous new features and bug fixes across nutrition management, fitness and activity tracking, sleep functions, and other areas—a total of 14 items.
The Google Health app v5.0.1 update is being rolled out sequentially to Android and iOS devices.
■ Nutrition Management
Custom Food History / Logging
Users can now view and log previously created custom foods (My Foods). (New custom food creation functionality is also coming soon.)
Added Macronutrient Goal Guidance
Added explanations and guidance to support setting goals for macronutrients (such as PFC balance).
Improved Third-Party App Syncing
Fixed incorrect meal type display: Resolved an issue where some meal data imported from “MyFitnessPal,” “Cronometer,” and “LoseIt” via “Apple Health” were labeled as “Other” instead of the correct meal type (e.g., Breakfast/Lunch).
Improved Duplicate Data Handling: Improved how meal logs are handled when the same third-party app is connected directly to both “Health Connect” and “Google Health.”
Default Naming: If a synced meal log from “Apple Health” lacks a name, a default food name will now be assigned automatically.
Improved Meal Logging for iOS Google Health App
Smoother switching of measurement units (e.g., grams/servings) when logging food from search results.
Improved Graph Displays
Enhanced consistency in graph displays for nutritional balance and calories across the “Today” tab, “Health” tab, and nutrition details screen.

Workout Classification Fix
Fixed an issue where some runs were incorrectly classified as other workout types. (New and past running data will now correctly display as “Running.”)
Resolved Missing Split Data
Fixed an issue where splits (pace per specific distance) were not appearing on some running summary screens.
Improved Map Loading
Enhanced the loading display for route maps in GPS-enabled workouts.
Fixed Duplicate Step Counts on iOS Google Health App
Resolved an issue where steps were double-counted for some users who had both “Apple Health” and “Mobile Track” enabled.
