  • New editing capabilities for uploaded videos are now being rolled out for “Gemini Omni.”
  • The feature is currently available in India first.

On Thursday, May 28, 2026 (local time), Google announced a new editing feature for uploaded videos as part of “Gemini Omni (Gemini Omni Flash).” This new AI model, which also supports video editing, was officially unveiled at the “Google I/O 2026” developer event and has begun rolling out to “Google AI Plus,” “Google AI Pro,” and “Google AI Ultra” members via the Google AI “Gemini” app.

“Gemini Omni” is a video generation AI model that integrates “Nano Banana,” an image generation AI. It allows users to create videos by selecting templates and providing instructional prompts, or even by uploading images to serve as a base for video generation. Now, a new feature has been launched for “Gemini Omni” that enables the editing of uploaded videos.

By uploading a video to “Gemini Omni” and providing instructions via prompts regarding the desired changes, the AI will edit the video according to those specific directives.

However, this new video editing feature for “Gemini Omni” is currently limited to a rollout in India. While there has been no announcement regarding availability in other regions, it is expected that the rollout will expand globally in the future.
