This carousel display in “AI Mode” and “AI Overviews” is a search feature that helps users grasp the latest information when searching for real-time events or unfolding news by presenting the latest articles, social media posts, and forum entries as horizontally scrollable cards. Additionally, if the content includes information from web media registered by the user as “Preferred Sources,” those specific sections will be highlighted.
Furthermore, to make it easier for users to identify primary or authoritative sources, Google is introducing a “Highly Cited” badge for web articles (URLs) that are frequently referenced by numerous other web media outlets.
