On Tuesday, May 19, 2026 (local time), Google announced “Agentic coding in Search,” a significant expansion for “Google Search,” at their developer-focused event “Google I/O 2026.”
“Agentic coding in Search” directly integrates the latest AI model, “Gemini 3.5 Flash,” and the autonomous code generation platform, “Google Antigravity,” into Google Search. This introduces a capability where the search engine automatically programs and builds content in real-time on the results page, ranging from interactive custom UIs and simulators based on the user’s specific questions or objectives, to “mini-apps” designed for task management. With the introduction of “Agentic coding in Search,” users can now utilize highly personalized, visual, and dynamic systems on the fly through Google Search.
For example, when a user searches to understand astrophysics concepts or wants to visualize how a clock works, “Agentic coding in Search” will generate programming code on the spot to create unique content combining interactive visuals, tables, graphs, and simulators. This content generation feature is scheduled to be rolled out for free to all users worldwide starting in the summer of 2026.
Furthermore, “Agentic coding in Search” includes features to support long-term, ongoing tasks such as wedding planning, moving processes, or daily health management. When a user inputs their daily goals or a project they are working on into the search box, the system generates a custom “mini-app” equipped with dedicated dashboards and progress trackers.
The “mini-app” generation feature of “Agentic coding in Search” is planned to be released in the coming months, initially for “Google AI Pro” and “Google AI Ultra” members in the United States.
