On Tuesday, May 19, 2026 (local time), during the “Google I/O 2026” developer event, Google officially announced “Gemini Spark,” a personal AI agent for “Google AI Ultra” members designed to support your digital life 24/7.
The newly announced “Gemini Spark” is an evolved model of the “Gemini Agent,” which is currently offered to “Google AI Ultra” members. Built upon “Google Antigravity,” a next-generation autonomous AI programming environment developed by Google, it integrates “Google Workspace” tools—such as Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Sheets. It performs tasks on your behalf in the background, even when your PC is closed or your smartphone is locked.
Specifically, it can automatically analyze your monthly credit card statements to detect wasteful spending, or consolidate meeting notes scattered across emails and chats into a Google Doc, even going as far as drafting follow-up emails for you.
“Gemini Spark” also supports MCP (Model Context Protocol) connections with external data and systems such as “Canva,” “OpenTable,” and “Instacart.” This list of supported services is expected to expand in the future, with new features being added continuously.
Additionally, new capabilities such as sending text messages and emails, creating custom sub-agents, and performing local browser operations are scheduled to be added.
