A new “Delete for everyone” feature for unsending messages has begun rolling out for the Android SMS/MMS/RCS client app, “Google Messages.”
The “Delete for everyone” feature in Google Messages is similar to the message retraction function found in “LINE.” It allows you to remove sent messages from the threads of all participants in a chat.
Please note that this feature only works for “RCS (Rich Communication Services).” Additionally, even if you retract a message, other participants will be notified that a message was deleted, as it will display “Message deleted.”

This “Delete for everyone” feature has been available since the Google Messages app for Android v20260515_00_RC00 (messages.android_20260515_00_RC00.phone.openbeta_dynamic) update, which was released on Monday, May 18, 2026. However, it is currently being rolled out as a beta feature for those registered as beta testers.
