Find Hub Launches Real-Time Location Sharing and Arrival/Departure Notifications

The Android version of the “Find Hub” app (v3.1.608-5) has rolled out departure/arrival notifications via the “Get location notifications” feature.
This feature is similar to the one that has long been available in Google Maps’ “Location Sharing.”
When “User A” shares their real-time location with “User B,” User B can set up “Get location notifications” to receive alerts when User A leaves their starting point or arrives at a destination specified by User B.

Google has begun rolling out departure and arrival notifications—called “Get location notifications”—for real-time location sharing in the Android version of its device tracking and location sharing service, “Find Hub” (v3.1.608-5).

The “Get location notifications” feature for real-time location sharing is similar to the functionality that has long been available in Google Maps’ “Location Sharing.” In other words, users can now utilize departure and arrival notifications not only through Google Maps but also within the “Real-time location sharing” feature of Find Hub.

With “Get location notifications,” when “User A” begins sharing their real-time location with “User B,” User B can enable notifications to be alerted when User A departs from their starting location or arrives at a specific location set by User B. For example, if a child starts real-time location sharing when heading home from school, and the parent enables “Get location notifications,” the parent will receive an alert when the child leaves school and another when they arrive at home.

For departure notifications, the alert is triggered when the user sharing their real-time location moves away from their current position. For arrival notifications, the person receiving the location data can specify a destination using an address or by selecting a point on the map. Additionally, the arrival radius can be set between 150m and 5km.
