New Google Autofill Backup and Restore Settings on Android

In the latest May 2026 edition of the “Google System Release Notes,” which summarizes information on “Google System Updates” designed to improve the security and reliability of Android-related devices published on Monday, May 11, 2026, Google announced support for backup and restore of “Google Autofill” in Android’s “Google” settings.

“Google Password Manager,” one of the services compatible with “Google Autofill,” has previously supported exporting and importing via CSV files. However, it appears that a new backup/restore setting for the entire “Google Autofill” feature will now be added within the “Google” settings (Google Services and Settings) on Android.

The “Google Autofill” backup/restore setting within “Google Services and Settings” on Android will be rolled out with the Android version of the “Google Play services” app v26.18 and later.
