The new “moto tag 2” Bluetooth tracker, which supports Google’s “Find Hub” location tracking service—announced by Motorola on Wednesday, January 7, 2026—seems to have quietly launched overseas.

The “moto tag 2” is already available on Amazon.com (US) and Amazon.de (Germany). While prices vary slightly depending on the seller, the base price is $44.99 for one and $124.99 for a 4-pack.

“moto tag 2”

The “moto tag 2” is a Bluetooth tracker compatible with Google’s “Find Hub” location service.

While the “moto tag 2” shares the same size and design as the original “moto tag,” it features a refreshed color palette in “PANTONE Arabesque” and “PANTONE Laurel Oak.” Notably, because the original “moto tag” shares the same form factor as Apple’s “AirTag,” the “moto tag 2” follows suit, allowing users to repurpose existing “AirTag” accessories.

The “moto tag 2” is equipped with a multi-function button; pressing it can trigger a notification sound on the paired Android device. Additionally, the button can be used as a remote shutter for your camera app.

Like its predecessor, the “moto tag 2” supports Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) technology. However, it also adds support for the new “Channel Sounding” Bluetooth feature, which allows for more precise distance measurement between devices. This enables even more accurate location tracking on Android devices running “Android 16” or later that support Bluetooth v6.0.

The “moto tag 2” boasts an IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating, an improvement over the IP67 rating of the original. It continues to be powered by a CR2032 coin-cell battery, but battery life has been significantly extended from the original’s one-year estimate to over 500 days of operation.
