In early May 2026, this “Remix Photos” feature in Google Photos saw a significant expansion of its template library. New additions include templates for Mother’s Day cards, birthdays, and various other themes, bringing the total selection to over 30 templates.

“Remix Photos” is a generative AI feature powered by the “Nano Banana” image generation model. It allows users to transform photos stored in Google Photos by choosing a template that modifies the original image. Although originally offered as two separate tools—”Remix” and “Create with AI”—the integration into a single “Remix Photos” experience was announced at the end of April 2026.

Please note that the integration of “Remix” and “Create with AI” into “Remix Photos” is currently rolling out for the Android version of the Google Photos app. While the iOS version still separates “Remix” and “Create with AI,” the expanded library of templates is available across platforms.
