On Friday, April 10, 2026, Google released the iOS version of “Google AI Edge Eloquent,” an AI-powered voice-to-text application featuring the capabilities of the “Gemma” small language model.
Unlike standard voice input software that transcribes slips of the tongue and filler words like “um,” “uh,” and “er” exactly as they are spoken, “Google AI Edge Eloquent” uses AI to automatically edit these out, transcribing only accurate, polished text. Beyond simply removing errors and filler words, it understands the context of disjointed speech and refines it into coherent, perfect sentences.
A key feature of “Google AI Edge Eloquent” is that it does not require a server connection, operating efficiently on-device. This means it works offline, and private user data is never sent to Google servers.
The app also includes a dictionary creation feature that learns the user’s vocabulary and is editable, with data saved to the user’s Google account. Despite these advanced features, “Google AI Edge Eloquent” is completely free to use.
However, please note that “Google AI Edge Eloquent” currently supports English only.

While “Google AI Edge Eloquent” is currently released only for iOS, Google is considering bringing it to other platforms, including PC and Android. Furthermore, development is actively underway to add support for languages other than English.
Google has also teased the release of a keyboard app for iOS. It is currently unclear whether this will be a standalone app featuring “Google AI Edge Eloquent” technology or if the functionality will be integrated directly into the “Gboard” app.
