While the feature to upload “Google Drive” files has long been available on the web and Android versions of Google’s AI, “Gemini,” it had been notably absent from the iOS app.

However, as of early April 2026, the “Google Drive” file upload feature has finally been unlocked for the iOS version of the “Gemini” app. This means you can now upload files saved in “Google Drive” directly to the Gemini app on your iPhone and ask questions based on those files.

The “Google Drive” file upload feature in the iOS “Gemini” app was rolled out starting around version v1.2026.1370000.
